On April 28, Environment Minister Han Wha-jin attended the commissioning ceremony of the Honam National Institute Biological Resources' island biology research vessel, held at the Namhang Government Vessel Pier in Mokpo, Jeollanam-do. The Minister joined the celebration of the commission of Seomnuriho, the first hybrid vessel of public institutions, with a champagne bottle-breaking ceremony and offered well wishes for its safe operation. After the ceremony, the Minister listened to explanations from officials about auxiliary vessels made from environmentally friendly high-density polyethylene plastic as well as the ESS battery room. The Minister also toured various parts of the ship.
