The Reservation System of Park Facilities limits the number of visitors to certain areas in order to prevent damages to the vulnerable park ecosystems and ensure visitor safety.

1.3 km of Nogodan area, Jirisan National Park, will accommodate 400 visitors/day from May to October 2002, and 8.3 km of Hangyeryung-Jungchung area, Seorak National Park, will accommodate 450 visitors/day in October 2002.

Visitors can use National Park Authority's official website at www.npa.or.kr or contact the reservation desk of the pertinent park management office (Jirisan National Park only) for reservations.

Seorak National Park Authority will cancel reservations when the visitor does not show up after 2 hours of the reserved visiting hours, and Jirisan National Park after 30 minutes.

Volunteers participate in nature preservation activities, monitoring camping practices, controlling traffic and parking lots, educating visitors' etiquettes, and many other activities in all Korean national parks. Volunteers might take ecology classes and be nature guides.

Volunteers who work more than 4 hours a day will be provided with cost of meal, and long-time volunteers will be given gifts and benefits when they apply to National Parks Authority employment.

Everyone is welcome, including group volunteers from companies and universities. For more information and application, visit National Park Authority's official website at www.npa.or.kr.
