On May 8, Environment Minister Han Wha-jin conducted a flood preparedness inspection at Gunnam Dam and Pilsung Bridge in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do. During the visit, the Minister stated, "It is necessary to secure water security in the downstream areas of rivers shared with North Korea like the Imjingang River and the Bukhangang River, rather than solely relying on inter-Korean cooperation." The Minister added, "There should be thorough preparations to prevent flood damage in the downstream areas of the Imjingang River."
