Korean Green Companies Export to China... Government Takes the Lead in Pioneering Opportunities

▷ Korea-China Green Industry Expo, Environmental Cooperation Forum, and green technology seminars introduce excellent green technologies and products from 10 Korean companies to China

▷ Discussions on environmental policy and technology exchange cooperation measures with the Departments of Ecology and Environment in Shandong and Hebei Provinces


The Ministry of Environment (Minister Han Wha-jin) announced that it will dispatch a green industry market exploration team to the local area from April 8 to 13 to establish a cooperation system with China on green industries and promote excellent domestic green technologies.


The market exploration team will pioneer the local market entry of domestic green industries through participation in the 6th Korea-China Green Industry Expo, Korea-China environmental industry cooperation forum, and green technology seminars in Shandong and Hebei Provinces, along with 10 Korean companies. In addition, collaboration meetings with the Department of Ecology and Environment of Shandong and Hebei Provinces will also be held.

The Korea-China Green Industry Expo is linked with the 22nd China International Environmental Protection Exhibition and Conference (CIEPEC*) and will be held at the International Exhibition Center in Beijing, China, from April 10 to 12. Hosted by the Korea Environmental Industry Association, the Korean Pavilion will showcase excellent environmental technologies and products from 10 domestic companies, including waste plastic decomposition and sludge treatment facilities. In addition, one-on-one business consultation meetings with local Chinese buyers will be arranged.

On the first day of the Green Industry Expo, April 10, the 6th Korea-China Environmental Industry Cooperation Forum will be held under the theme of ‘Technological Innovation for Low-Carbon Green Growth.’ This forum provides a platform for exchanging and discussing environmental policies and green technologies of both countries, aiming at fostering cooperation in achieving low-carbon green growth.


Furthermore, unlike previous years, the Ministry of Environment will host green technology seminars for the first time in major provinces of China, Shandong and Hebei, to activate the export of green industries.


The seminar in Shandong Province will be held on April 9 at the Ramada Hotel, while the seminar in Hebei Province will take place on April 12 at the Shijiazhuang Zhongmao Haiyue Hotel. Representatives from five participating Korean companies* will introduce their technologies and products, along with concurrent business consultations.

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of exchange and cooperation with Shandong Province, the Ministry will hold the 18th Environmental Cooperation Working Group Meeting with the Department of Ecology and Environment of Shandong Province on April 9 at the Ramada Hotel. Officials from both countries will celebrate the 20th anniversary of cooperation and discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations further, as well as exchange opinions on climate change and industrial cooperation measures.


Furthermore, an environmental cooperation meeting will be held with the Department of Ecology and Environment of Hebei Province on April 12 at the Zhongmao Haiyue Hotel in Shijiazhuang, aiming to discuss ongoing cooperation measures such as policy and technology exchanges for the future.


Jang Ki-bok, Director General of Green Transition Policy Bureau, stated, “We will continue to actively dispatch green industry market exploration teams to overseas locations based on industrial demand, to widely promote the excellent technologies and products of Korean companies.” He added, “We will do our utmost to provide the necessary support for participating companies to achieve export success through this event.”
