Promoting User Oriented Environmental Industry Fostering Policies such as new environmental technology roadshow, and Expansion of financial support for examining validity of overseas environmental plants etc.

◇ Seeking ways to enter overseas markets and omnidirectional supports to foster environmental industry at the Environmental Industry Fostering Forum with industry experts, academic professionals and representatives of related institutions

■ Ministry of Environment decided to promote practically necessary policies at sites such as a) holding roadshow to expand applications of new environmental technologies, b) creating & distributing manual on entering overseas markets, and c) expansion of financial support for examining validity of overseas environmental plants to nurture environmental industry at the First Environmental Industry Fostering Forum (chaired by Vice Minister Byung-Wook Lee) on May 6, 2009 participated by thirty three members including industry experts, academic professionals and representatives of related institutions.

"Market Prospects & Penetration Strategies of the Industry for each country" (Dr. Ki-Hoon Song, KEITI) and "Case Study on Greenhouse Gas Reduction Technology Export to China" (CEO Jin-Sung Song, GREENPRA CO.,LTD.) were presented.  Also, detailed and pragmatic suggestions for entering overseas markets were made; major ones follow:

a) creating and distributing manual on case studies and strategies to eliminate barriers of entering overseas markets and minimizing trial and error processes for small and medium size companies and need for expansion of human resource networking and providing short-term education & training program for foreign bureau officials   
b) requesting for specific supports & promotion of multidirectional policies such as i) providing presentations and connection programs on certified products/equipments which will facilitate their uses in the municipal communities and ii) adapting MOUs to connect with overseas demands
c) need for budget expansion to create and provide basic database of the industry related statistics to the users

■ MOE plans to continuously promote site-oriented environmental industry fostering policies by holding the Environmental Industry Fostering Forum regularly which will help advancement of the industry and facilitate entering a large market abroad.
