▷ A green wedding for couples in need free of charge
Wonju, April 11 - The Korea National Park Service (Chairman Song Hyung-geun), an affiliate of the Ministry of Environment, will offer couples in need who did not have their wedding ceremony an eco-friendly wedding without disposable items. In an 'eco-friendly wedding without disposable items,' the wedding will not have any disposable decorations, including curtains and flowers. It will take place in the beautiful scenery of Korea's national parks. The KNPS will offer the wedding ceremony at fifteen locations, including Sobaeksan Mountain's Yeonhwabong Shelter, Dadohaehaesang Maritime patrol vessels, and nature centers at Bukhansan Mountain, Jirisan Mountain, Seoraksan Mountain, and eight other centers nationwide. The Korea National Park Service will select 30 couples and plan their wedding from May to November (spring and fall).
The KNPS will provide the wedding venue and accommodations for free, such as rooms at the nature center or the camping sites. Those selected couples can have their weddings at unique venues, such as a mountain wedding at Sobaeksan Mountain's Yeonhwabong Shelter, a forest wedding at Hallyeohaesang Park's Nature Center, or a ship wedding on a Dadohaehaesang's Maritime patrol vessel. In addition, the newlyweds will get complimentary wedding photography and wedding attire rental, and the guests will receive eco-friendly gifts made from local items.
Chairman Song Hyung-geun of the Korea National Park Service said, "We aim to help couples in need using our national parks' exceptional natural resources and lead in ESG by practicing carbon neutrality."
