On the afternoon of July 10, Environment Minister Han Wha-jin presided over a meeting for the Ministry of Environment and local governments on river and stream management at the Sejong Government Complex. During the meeting, she emphasized, "The safety of the people is the foremost priority. River restoration projects should be carried out with a sense of mission to prevent human casualties. This means we must prioritize the management of rivers and streams." She further emphasized, "There is no distinction between central and local governments when it comes to the safety of the people. The Ministry of Environment will devote its full efforts to support local governments."
