On May 26, Environment Minister Han Wha-jin visited the Banghwa Train Depot of Seoul Metro located in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. The Minister listened to explanations from on-site personnel about the train disinfection procedures and methods. The Minister urged, "Please do your best in the disinfection of the trains with pride. Your dedication is vital to safeguarding the health and safety of the millions of citizens who rely on the subway."

The Minister also checked whether or not the disinfectant used during the disinfection process was approved by the Ministry of Environment. The Minister stated, "All disinfectants approved by the Ministry of Environment to date are specifically intended for 'surface disinfection' purposes, and should not be used for air disinfection."

To ensure the appropriate use of approved surface disinfectants at the train depot, the Minister inspected the disinfection site. The Minister urged, "All personnel should refrain from spraying disinfectants into the air and wear protective gear during the disinfection process."
