The Second Korea-Vietnam Environment Ministers' Meeting held in Seoul

At the invitation of Minister Kim Myung Ja of the Ministry of Environment, Minister Mai Ai Truc of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam visited Seoul, where they held the second Korea-Vietnam Environment Ministers' Meeting (KVEMM) on 14 Nov. 2002.

The two Ministers exchanged views on the progress made in the bilateral environmental cooperation between the two countries, such as exchange and training of human resources, progress of joint cooperative projects such as the Knowledge Partnership projects and eco-oriented city development in Haiphong, Vietnam, and the future direction of the bilateral environmental cooperation.

Ministers expressed their hope to further develop and build upon these projects, and closely work together for the successful implementation of the projects. At the end of the meeting, Ministers witnessed the signing of the Arrangement for Cooperation between the Korean Ministry of Environment and the People's Committee of Haiphong City on the Haiphong Eco-City Development.

The meeting concluded by Minister Mai's appreciation of Minister Kim and the Korean government for their warm welcome and generous hospitality.
