2025 International Water Industry Expo to Be Held... Korea’s Largest Water Industry Exhibition

▷ 22nd International Water Industry Expo opens on March 19 at KINTEX in Ilsan

The Ministry of Environment (Minister Kim Wansup) and the Korean Water and Wastewater Works Association (President Kang Gi-jung) announced that

they will hold the ‘2025 International Water Industry Expo (Water Korea)’ from March 19 to 21 at KINTEX (located in Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang-si) in the second exhibition hall.

The Water Korea is the largest water industry exhibition in Korea, held annually since 2002 to promote outstanding products and technologies of water companies worldwide and to stimulate the domestic water industry.

Marking its 22nd edition this year, the Water Korea is themed “Safe Water and Our World,” reaffirming the water industry’s responsibility to ensure safe water for all in an era where climate change and water crises have become part of everyday life.

This year’s expo will feature 210 domestic water companies across 585 exhibition booths, showcasing various water industry technologies and products. In particular, it will introduce numerous new water technologies, including smart urban flood measurement technology and digital sewer systems integrated with information and communication technology.

This year, the exhibition has expanded beyond its traditional focus on water supply and sewage to include technologies and products related to river management and water disaster prevention. The Ministry plans to continue this expansion next year, actively fostering promising future industries such as water circulation, water reuse, seawater desalination, and ultrapure water.

In addition, various seminars will be held for companies and stakeholders participating in the Water Korea to share the Ministry’s policy directions for the water industry. In particular, a special seminar on water safety, aligned with this year’s expo theme, will provide an in-depth discussion on water safety measures in the water supply sector.

Moreover, an export support seminar to actively support companies’ overseas expansion and a public procurement seminar aimed at enhancing the expertise of local government officials responsible for water-related affairs are planned.

At the opening ceremony, which will be held on March 19 at 10:30 a.m., government awards will be presented to six individuals who have contributed to providing safe and clean water in various sectors, including businesses and local governments. The Presidential Citation will be awarded to Lee In-beom, Office Manager of the Dongbu Office of the Gwangju Metropolitan Waterworks, and Kim Hyuntaek, CEO of Hyclor. The Prime Minister’s Citation will be awarded to Seo Sung-soo, CEO of Korea Fluid Technology.

Vice Minister of Environment Lee Byounghwa stated, “We hope the Water Korea will play a pivotal role in expanding Korea’s water industry to the global stage.” He added, “To enhance the competitiveness of our water industry, we will continue to expand research and development in the water sector and actively invest in full-cycle support for water companies, from startup to overseas export, to foster strong SMEs in the field.”
