Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co., Ltd., Coca-Cola Korea Bottling Company Co. Ltd., Haitai Beverage Co.Ltd., and Dong-A Otsuka Co.Ltd. made a voluntary agreement on Extended Producer Responsibility System for recycling disposed plastic bottles on May 30, 2002.

Plastic bottles are mainly used for beverages, food, water and detergents containers. When disposed bottles are collected, they will be cut, cleaned, processed and finally recycled to polyester fabric.

The target amount of recycling is 55,000 tons in 2002 which is 65% of total disposed plastic bottles.

EPRS for disposed bottles are the 7th voluntary agreement, following home appliances, fluorescent lamps, glass bottles, metal cans, tires and lubricating oil since 2000.
