Member nations of EU agree on implementing a law for recycling of electronic appliances

The government will be responsible for making a policy for recycling of electronic appliances in an effort to separate the electronic appliance wastes from other wastes. The manufacturers will be responsible for the disposal fees, and each person will be obligated for up to 4kg of waste collection and 50~75% of recycling.

EPA Celebrates 30th Anniversary of Clean Water Act(10.18)

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Clean Water Act and the establishment of National Water Monitoring Day. President George W. Bush declared Oct. 18, 2002 as the start of the observance of the Year of Clean Water, through a Presidential Proclamation. Through this celebration, the government wishes to get people's awareness on importance of the water resources and the water quality.

Gansusheng, funded by Asian Development Bank, enforces a "Clean Energy Project" (10.8)

China's Ministry of Finance and Economy received a 70 million dollar fund from the ADB for the "Clean Energy Project" in order to support the fortresses in the western China. Gansusheng and Guangxisheng are chosen as the model regions for this project.
