The Ministry of Environment along with the Korea Institute of Environmental Science and Technology invites the public to join in the 6th Environmental Technology Award, for rewarding those who have contributed to advancing the nation's environmental technology development.

The Environmental Technology Award, which is rewarded every other year since its inception in 1995, has given out a total of 33 awards in 5 fields of environment-related technologies, such as prior pollution prevention, air, water quality, wastes, and environmental base technology. The prize is divided into 3 categories of the Presidential Award, Prime Minister's Award, and the Environment Minister's Award.

In this year's award, to promote active development in the field of environmental technology, one more field has been added, which is an outstanding environmental technology award for women. Also, the prize money has dramatically increased, about twice as much for the Presidential Award.

The candidates for nomination of the awards can be teams or individuals who have made a significant contribution to development of environmental technology or those with prominent achievements. The registration for nomination will begin from July 1 to August 31, at the Korea Institute of Environmental Science and Technology.

For further details regarding the Environmental Technology Award or on making nominations for the award, please visit the Ministry of Environment website (http://www.me.go.kr) or the Korea Institute of Environmental Science and Technology website (http://www.kiest.org).
