The First Korea-China Environmental Industry Investment Forum will be co-hosted by MOE, Korean and Chinese environmental industry associations in order to strengthen the environmental cooperation and to explore the Chinese environmental market.

In this 2 days' forum, briefing sessions on environmental technologies, a vice-ministerial meeting for technological cooperation, and investment counselling will be provided. Among 250 participants from the two countries, 28 will present their environmental technologies on air quality management, waste treatment, waterworks, waste water treatment, environmental equipments, soil restoration and pollution prevention technologies, etc. For example, Korean environmental industries such as Kenvitech(limited) and Nature and Environment(limited) will deliver presentations on the Telemetry Monitoring System and natural river restoration technology, respectively.

This forum commemorates the first anniversary of opening Korean Environmental Industry and Technology Exhibition. Since it has opened last year in Beijing, environmental cooperation between two countries has increased. In the first quarter of this year, 21 technologies worth 106 billion Won have exported. The export items and their amount are greatly increased from 8 items worth 17 billion Won in the latter half of last year.

Ministry of Environment and Korea Environmental Industry Association will continuously promote the environmental cooperation between the two countries. They will provide information on Chinese environmental market, especially in Beijing, Shanxi, and Western China, host environmental technology introduction sessions in China, publish a pamphlet to introduce 42 Korean environmental industries. In addition, they will promote exchange program of environmental technicians.
