The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment (MCEE, Minister Kim Sungwhan) and the Korea Environmental Conservation Institute (President Shin Jinsoo) announced that the 47th International Exhibition on Environmental Technology & Green Energy (ENVEX 2026) will be held at COEX (located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul) from May 20 to 22. Visitors will be able to explore the future of Korea’s green industry in one place,

※ ENVEX 2026 (ENVironmental EXhibition): Korea’s longest-running green industry trade exhibition, marking its 47th edition this year since its inaugural event in 1979.

ENVEX 2026, Korea’s largest green industry exhibition, has attracted approximately 360,000 visitors over the past decade. This year, a total of 316 companies from 26 countries will participate across 655 exhibition booths, with approximately 46,000 visitors expected to attend.

In particular, to accommodate participation demand that has increased by approximately 20% compared to last year, the exhibition space will be expanded to include the external lobby area, providing broader opportunities for technology exchange and business engagement.

The operation of international pavilions has expanded to include the European Union (EU) and Switzerland, while a diverse range of overseas companies from countries such as France, Poland, and China will participate to strengthen international exchange. In addition, officials from international organizations and foreign governments have been invited, further enhancing the exhibition’s role as a gateway to overseas environmental business opportunities.

Meanwhile, in line with the industrial sector’s digital transformation (DX) trend, a special Climate Tech and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Pavilion will be newly introduced. 

The special pavilion will showcase a wide range of innovative technologies incorporating information and communication technology (ICT*), including carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technology and AI-powered platforms for water quality and air quality forecasting.

* An umbrella term combining information technology (IT) and communication technologies, referring to all technologies used to collect, store, process, and transmit data.

Support programs aimed at helping participating companies generate tangible business outcomes have also been strengthened. 

Programs such as the “1:1 Export Consultation Meetings with Invited Overseas Buyers” and the “Business-to-Government (B2G) Advisory Consultations for Public Officials from Developing Countries” will be operated. In addition, the “Korea-China Environmental Business Technology Cooperation Exchange” will support environmental industry export projects to China and facilitate on-site business matching between domestic companies.

For the domestic market, business consultation sessions will be held with invited public institutions and private-sector demand organizations (such as environmental engineering firms), alongside support for venture capital investment consultations and intellectual property counseling.

In collaboration with the resource circulation-focused YouTube channel My TrashMan (featuring actor Kim Sukhoon), the exhibition plans to introduce outstanding green technologies and companies at the event site to the public in a more accessible and engaging way. 

In addition, the “Online Exhibition Hall (envex.or.kr/online),” which enables year-round promotion of technologies and products as well as real-time consultations, will be operated throughout the year to support the continued expansion of market opportunities for green companies.

Oh Ilyoung, Deputy Minister for Climate and Energy Policy Office at the MCEE, stated, “ENVEX 2026 will showcase innovative technologies that integrate artificial intelligence and green technology, while also serving as a stepping stone for domestic small and medium-sized green enterprises to expand into overseas markets.” He added, “We will provide active support to help participating companies expand market opportunities and generate export outcomes.”
