▷ Holding a ‘green technology investment briefing’ in Silicon Valley, introducing 10 companies with outstanding green technologies
The Ministry of Environment (Minister Kim Wansup) announced that it will dispatch a green industry market development team to Silicon Valley, USA, from November 18 to 24, to hold an investment briefing and support the entry of excellent domestic green companies into the US environmental market.
The upcoming investment briefing (K-Green Day@Silicon Valley) will be held on November 20 at the PlugNPlay Tech Center (located in California, USA) in conjunction with the Silicon Valley Winter Summit** (November 19-21), hosted by the world-renowned startup incubation organization PlugNPlay*.
* Since its establishment in 2006, it is a startup incubating center that has invested in over 2,000 startups and operates 64 branches worldwide, including Seoul.

The Ministry recruited companies wishing to participate in this investment briefing and selected 10 companies*. From September 25, they conducted a seven-week pre-training for fundraising. The pre-training consisted of 1) information and outlook on major global green industry investment markets such as the U.S., 2) presentation material preparation methods and introduction techniques, and 3) individual company fundraising mentoring.

The domestic green technologies to be showcased this time include diesel particulate filter (DPF) air purification systems, green hydrogen generation devices, nano-structured oil-water separation membranes, energy-independent solar-powered cameras, recycled plastics from waste plastics, arsenic adsorbents for water treatment, low-temperature depolymerization for the production of high-quality polyols from waste polyurethane, eco-friendly materials recycled from agricultural by-products, direct air capture of carbon and renewable energy production, and microbial agents for environmental purification, totaling 10 technologies.
In addition, during the Silicon Valley Winter Summit, the Ministry will operate small promotional spaces for individual companies at the event venue, actively introducing promotional videos and leaflets related to the technologies to local investors (VCs).
Seo Young-tae, Director General of Green Transition Policy Bureau, stated, “Through this event, we will continuously support domestic small and medium-sized enterprises’ green technologies to gain recognition for their technical capabilities in advanced markets such as the U.S. and North America and, furthermore, to achieve investment outcomes.”
