▷ International hydrogen event featuring an industry exhibition, conference, and various side programs
The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment (Minister Kim Sunghwan) announced that Minister Kim Sunghwan will attend the opening ceremony of the World Hydrogen Expo 2025, the largest hydrogen event in the Asia-Pacific region, which will be held at KINTEX (located in Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang-si) for seven days from December 4.
This event is expected to involve more than 280 companies and organizations from 26 countries around the world, and it will include a hydrogen industry exhibition, an international conference, and various side events.
In particular, since the Hydrogen Council General Assembly, a council of CEOs from more than 140 global hydrogen companies, will be held in Korea during the same week, a wide range of overseas hydrogen companies are expected to participate in the event.
At the exhibition, a wide range of items will be displayed, including technologies and products related to clean hydrogen production such as materials, components, and equipment for water electrolysis and ammonia cracking; hydrogen utilization products such as hydrogen buses, hydrogen electric trams, and hydrogen combustion engines; and various hydrogen distribution product lines including hydrogen refueling systems and liquefied hydrogen storage tanks.
The international conference will consist of three tracks* in which major governments such as Australia, Germany, and Japan, as well as international organizations including ISO and the International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy (IPHE), and overseas industry representatives will share the current status of the hydrogen economy and discuss international cooperation measures for expanding the ecosystem.
* 1. Leadership & Market Insight (high-level speeches by government and corporate leaders); 2. Hydrogen Deep Dive (presentations and discussions by domestic and international companies and experts; discussion on hydrogen technology development and industrial strategies); 3. Country Day (country-specific discussions on the hydrogen industry)
Various side programs to support companies will also take place. Through events such as technology and product briefings for domestic hydrogen companies, export consultation meetings, and the “H2 Innovation Award,” which selects innovative technologies and companies in the hydrogen sector, the event will support corporate technology and product promotion as well as overseas market entry.
Minister Kim Sunghwan stated at the opening ceremony, “Following the recent announcement of the ‘2035 Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC)’ to the international community at the 30th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties, the government plans to fundamentally transform the industrial and economic structure through the transition to green industry in Korea. We will systematically support the establishment of a hydrogen ecosystem, which is a key means of industrial innovation and decarbonization.” He added, “I hope this event will serve as an opportunity to revitalize the global hydrogen industry ecosystem and to showcase the innovative technologies and products of Korean companies to the global market.”
