Post-doctoral Fellowships, NIER, Incheon, Korea

The National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) of Korea is seeking post-doctoral fellows in a way to secure high-quality human resources and provide opportunities to young scientists in and out of Korea.

1. Research field

  - Atmospheric Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or Atmospheric Environment

  - Atmosphere Modeling or Atmospheric Chemistry

  - Environmental Health or Preventive Medicine

  - Hydrology or Water Quality Modeling

  - Environmental Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry

  - Statistics or Modelling related to Climate Change, Convergence Technology (IT, ET, BT), Energy Demand Management, Renewable Energy or Energy Economics

  - Remote Sensing and Monitoring or Carbon Cycle Modeling

  - Air Quality, Water Quality, Human Health or Ecology

2 Requirements
  - Meeting conditions specified by Article 33 of the Korean laws related to government officials 
  - PhD in and out of Korea
  - Less than 5 years since PhD
  - PhD candidates getting the degree in three months

3. Duration of the fellowship
  - From September 1, 2008 to end of each project

4. Application  
  - Application form (Annex 1)
  - Hardcopy of PhD certification and summary of PhD thesis
  - Academic records
  - Hardcopy of publications (front page only)
  - Medical records
  - Certification of test results of English proficiency (if applicable)

5. Screening and notification
  - Paper screening and interview, final results will come out on August 28, 2008
  - NIER will inform the applicants whether or not he/she has been accepted.

6. Salary     
  - Following policy of NIER

  - Application must be submitted from August 6, 2008 to August 21, 2008, 18:00
  - Application must be submitted directly or by mail (mail should arrive at NIER by 18:00 on August 22)

8. Note
  -Submitted documents will not be returned and employment will be canceled if there is anything wrong in the document.
  -NIER will not be responsible for disadvantages of applicants when they made mistakes in submission or can’t be reached.
